About Me
Born in Honduras, Central America in 1960, my family moved to New Orleans in 1965. I was raised in the suburbs of Metairie, just 15 minutes west of New Orleans where I spent my formative years. After graduating with the Dean's Medal from Louisiana State University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the College of Design, I accepted a position as a Design Planner with GSLA in Orlando, Florida. Glatting, Sellen, Lopez, Anglin, a Land Planning and Landscape Architecture firm specialized in large scale projects such as Iseworth, Lake Nona and the Redevelopment of downtown Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach.
In 1986, I moved to the Suncoast of Florida after accepting a position with KHPG as lead in house designer. The King Helie Planning Group, a small Land Planning and Landscape Architecture firm specialized in large scale Master Planned Unit Development projects such as Trinity Communities, Regency Communities and River Ridge. I also produced free hand renderings for both firms which fueled my growing interest for 3D perspective illustrations.
These projects were the foundation and beginning of my passion and love for planning and drafting. It also showed me how the cohesion of exterior spaces, hardscape elements and interior spaces are integral to achieving a high quality finished product. Having direct input into the collaborative design process gave me a diverse and vast experience exceptionally early in my career and afforded me the opportunity to be "hands on" as part of a design team. Working closely with experienced landscape architects, designers, planners and associated professionals such as engineers, surveyors and real estate agents helped mold my design acumen while quickly learning the steps associated with the "design process". Understanding and "listening" to client's needs are of utmost priority for me as a designer and key to realizing the finished product for all my clients.
In 1991, I began my self-employed career as a Design Consultant offering multiple services for a wide range of customers and have designed hundreds of projects that have been installed in the Greater Tampa Bay area. My residential projects range from 500 square foot additions to single family private residences as large as 14,000 square feet and commercial projects ranging from a small single space renter like a nail salon to a large strip center.
Let me put my vast experience and array of design services to work for you.
